Virtual Infant Safety Series: Buckle-Up Car Seat Safety

  • Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Virtual via Zoom United States (map)

Knowing how to properly install your baby's car seat each time they are in a motor vehicle is important. Road injuries are the leading cause of preventable deaths and injuries to children in the United States. Moving children too soon to the next stage of car seats is a common mistake parents make. Correctly using a child safety seat can reduce the risk of death by as much as 71 percent. This class will teach how to install a car seat correctly, when to move your baby to the next car seat size, when to change from front-facing to rear-facing, and tools to keep your child safe in cars.

Facilitator: Safe Kids Palm Beach County

Safe Kids is a community-based program that offers safety education and materials to families to decrease preventable injuries in children from 0 to 19. They provide educational materials for the following injury areas: drowning prevention, home safety, pedestrian safety, bicycle safety, and child passenger safety.
