Nutrition: Good Nutrition, Healthy Baby

Eating good and feeling good! Nutrition is an essential part of pregancy. From knowing which vitamins and minerals will help your baby's growth, to knowing what to stay away from. This nutrition class will show you that and more. There are many issues in pregnancy and postpartum that good nutrition can help curb. This class will help give you the tools to stay your healthies during your pregnancy, and answer some of those nutrition myths and questions floating around.

Facilitator: Mikayla Guerrier, MPH, Centering Facilitator Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies Coalition of Palm Beach County
Born and raised in Royal Palm Beach, Florida, Mikayla Guerrier is a public health professional who focuses on alleviating health disparities in maternal health among Black populations. Being the daughter of two Haitian immigrants, Mikayla had the importance of community, and the value of education, instilled in her at a very young age. After graduating from the Alexander W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts, she continued her academic journey at the University of South Florida, where she graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Public Health, then later she received her Masters in Public Health at Florida International University. Last but not least, Mikayla is also a proud member of the illustrious Gamma Gamma Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., now serving as her chapter’s Social Justice and Civil Action chair. In her down time, Mikayla loves practicing the arts through classical music, dance, and acting, as well as eating ice cream with her friends and family.
